Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a catalyst having high denitrating performance by dipping a fabric of inorg. fibers in a liq. mixture of a silica sol with a catalytic component, drying the fabric, spreading paste of a catalytic compsn. and carrying out drying and calcining. CONSTITUTION:A fabric or meshy body of heat resistant inorg. fibers is dipped in a liq. mixture 11 or a silica sol with a catalytic component such as titanium oxide or molybdenum oxide, passed between wringer rolls, dried, pretreated and used as an upper substrate 2. Paste 1 of a catalytic compsn. is fed between the substrate 2 and a lower substrate 2' and the substrates 2, 2' are held between sheets 3, 3' and passed between rolls 4, 4' to spread the paste 1. The lattice gap in the substrate 2 is filled with the paste 1 and the resulting sheetlike catalytic body 6 is dried and calcined. The water content of the paste is increased, a catalyst having high denitrating performance is obtd. and the exfoliation of the sheets after spreading is facilitated.
