Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the title screen excellent in shape retainability and dimensional stability, good in airtightness and shading nature by making a knit fabric made up of sheath-core type conjugate yarn composed of two different polyester fibers into a pleat under specified conditions and by hot-press setting of this pleat. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, a knit fabric is produced in such a way that sheath-core type conjugate polyester filament yarns made up of (A) as the core, polyethylene terephthalate and (B) as the sheath, a low-melting polyester account for >=20wt.% of the total yarns and >=40wt.% of the warps and/or wefts. The knit fabric is then heat-treated at temperatures higher than the melting point of the component B but lower then the melting point of the component A to effect fusing (part of) the intersections for said filament yarns followed by folding the resultant knit fabric in such a direction that >=40wt.% of said filament yarns are used to form a pleat, which is then hot-pressed at temperatures lower than the melting point of the component A by 1 to 30 deg.C and heat-set, thus obtaining the objective screen.
