Title:
MATERIAL FOR FIBER-REINFORCED PLASTICS TO BE COMPRESSION MOLDED
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS602321
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a molding material for producing a fiber-reinforced plastic compression molded item with good productivity, working precision, yield, and strength, by molding a tack-free material that has been obtained by impregnating fibers with a resin, and molding the tack-free material into a continuous column, prism or the like.

CONSTITUTION: Fibers such as glass fibers, carbon fibers, etc. are impregnated with a resin such as an unsaturated polyester resin, epoxy resin, etc. that contains a filler, a releasing agent, a hardening agent, a condensation agent, a thickening agent, a colorant, etc., and are made to be tack-free (e.g. in the so-called B-stage). After or before the mixture is made tack-free, the mixture is extruded or drawn to be formed into a fiber reinforced plastic molding material 1 in the shape of a column, a prism, a cylinder or the like. The material 1 will be placed between a top force 2 and a bottom force 3, and pressed into a molded item 5. Thus, a fiber reinforced plastic compression molded item can be obtained with good productivity.
