PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile wireless communication unit with a pedometer that can measure the number of steps through the use of the function of itself. SOLUTION: When the mobile wireless communication unit roams and enters another area, a position registration means 1 performs a position registration with a base station in the area. When the position registration is finished, a step number count means 2 counts up the number of times of position registration and increments a preset one-area roaming distance or the number of steps equivalent to the one area roaming distance to update a step number memory 5. Then a display device 4 displays updated contents (moving distance or the number of steps).
