PURPOSE: To obtain a sharp image high in density and low in fog by adding a specified amt. of specified magnetic material.
CONSTITUTION: A magnetic material contained in an amt. of 0.001W2wt% in a toner has an average particle diameter of ≤200nm and a coercive force of ≥1,000Oe. To obtain ultrafine magnetic particles suitable for this invention, an aq. soln. of metal methoxide and metal acetonate is used as a starting material and hydrolyzed in 10W11 in pH, and the obtained ppt. is calcined at about 800°C. Embodiments of the ultrafine magnetic particles obtained by this method are barium hexaferrite and strontium hexaferrite. having 5,000W7,000Oe. A colorant is added when the toner is used as a magnetic color toner and the colorant is necessary.
