Title:
MULTIBEAM ANTENNA
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5928703
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To extend the beam width and to attain the switching of the high gain mode and the nondirective or wide mode, by changing the number of excited antenna elements and providing a variable impedance matching circuit changed interlockingly with the impedance.

CONSTITUTION: Plural discoid antenna elements 3 are arranged in an antenna dome 2 of the multibeam antenna 1, and a bybrid circuit 11 of an antenna feeding circuit 6 is connected to orthogonal exciting terminals 12, 13 of the antenna 1. Further, a signal inputted to the feeding circuit 6 is added to a distributor 10 having output terminals by the number of the elements 3 via a 1-wavelength impedance converting circuit 9. The variable impedance matching circuit 7 having a control terminal 17 is coupled to the circuit 9. Power is supplied to each element 3 from the circuit 11 by switching an output signal with a signal from a control terminal 15 of the distributor 10 to change the number of the elements 3 to be excited and the circuit 7 changes the impedance. Thus, the beam width of the antenna 1 is varied with a high gain.
