PURPOSE: To provide a pressure-fixale developing toner good in storage stability, by adding as a binder component A a resin obtained by polymerizing a styrenic monomer or a styrene-acrylic monomers with a wax having functional groups, and as a binder component B low-mol.wt. polyethylene.
CONSTITUTION: A solid resin having ≤60,000 weight-average mol.wt. is obtained by polymerizing a monomer derived from styrene, such as styrene, α-methylstyrene, or p-chlorostyrene, or a syrene-acrylic monomers of styrene-acrylic acid, methyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, or the like, with a wax having ≥10C and ≤10,000 number-average mol.wt. and functional groups, such as stearic acid, montanic acid, or its acid anhydride. A toner is prepared of this resin, a low mol.wt. polyethylene having ≤4,000 weight-average mol.wt., and magnetite by the known process, and 1.2wt% hydrophobic colloidal silica based on the toner is added to it to provide a developer.
