Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a porous catalyst for purifying exhaust gas excellent in heat shock resistance and oxidation purifying capacity without performing sintering, constituted of a hard substance containing aluminate lime and inorg. fiber having heat resistance of 1,000°C or more.
CONSTITUTION: An inorg. fiber comprising TiC, TiN, SiC, alumina, mullite, silicon nitride, SIALON, cordierite and zirconia and having heat resistance of 1,000°C or more is prepared. This inorg. fiber, aluminate lime and, further, titanium oxide are mixed and hardened. Thus obtained catalyst for purifying exhaust gas is prepared without performing sintering and is excellent in heat shock resistance and oxidation purifying capacity.
