PURPOSE: To reliably control an amount of the air depending on a combustion amount to increase an excellent regulating range of a combustion amount, by a method wherein a means for feeding the air for combustion is operated at a specified cycle to control an opening or a closed time.
CONSTITUTION: The air for combustion from a blower 8 is partially fed through a pipe 10 to a combustion chamber 1 and the rest through a control valve 11 to the combustion chamber. The control valve 11 repeatedly turns ON and OFF a solenoid 15 at an intermittent cycle through the operation of a controller 16. An amount of the air flowing in through a suction port 3 is controlled depending upon a ratio of a time during which the control valve is opened. For such regulation, either a means for controlling one cycle of an opening or a closed time, a means for controlling a cycle in a condition to keep an opening or a closed time at a specified value, or a means for changing an opening or a closed time and a cycle simultaneously, may be employed. A fuel amount is controlled by a controller 17 of a feed oil pump 5, and an optimum amount of the air for maintaining an excellent combustion state in the combustion chamber 1 is controlled by a controller 16.
