PURPOSE: To obtain polyurethane elastic yarns having particularly improved elastic recovery and improved heat resistance and alkali resistance, by reacting a specific compound having tow or more active hydrogen atoms in the molecule thereof with an organic diisocyanate, and melt spinning the reaction product.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A compound, obtained by reacting a dihydric alcohol, e.g. neopentyl alcohol, with a dibasic acid (or an ester or acid anhydride), e.g. adipic acid, -caprolactone or/and hydroxycaproic acid, consisting of polycaprolactone polyester diol, and having 35W150KOHmg/g hydroxyl number, 60W95wt% content of the -caprolactone and hydroxycaproic acid and two or more active hydrogen atoms in the molecule thereof is reacted with (B) an organic diisocyanate, e.g. 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate and if necessary (C) a chain extender to give a polyurethane elastomer, which is then melt spun through an extruder to afford the aimed polyurethane elastic yarns.
