Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the quantity of hardware by accessing a buffer memory by circulating part of a speech code memory by an address counter. CONSTITUTION:A no-sound part in a speech signal is detected in real time to compress the no-sound section and speech code data is written in the speech code memory 34 under the control of the address counter 33. In this no-sound compression, the buffer memory for preventing the head of a word from being absent is accessed by circulating part of the speech code memory 34 by the address counter 33. Consequently, the quantity of the hardware is reduced on the whole.
