PURPOSE: To obtain a photoreceptor superior in electrophotographic characteristics and resistance to weather and humidity, and capable of forming an image high in density and resolution, by laminating a layer made mainly of an amorphous silicon and a layer made mainly of boron-nitrogen on a conductive substrate.
CONSTITUTION: The a-Si layer 2 made mainly of amorphous silicon, and doped with H, F, B, P, Ge, or the like in accordance with its object is formed on a conductive substrate 1, and on the layer 2 the layer 3 is formed contg. (BxN1-x)1-yXy, where X is H, C, F or the like as the third component, or the layer 3 is first formed on the substrate 1 and the layer 2 is formed on the layer 3. As a result, the obtd. electrophotographic receptor is superior in charging characteristics, hardness, humidity resistance, etc., and especially high in dark resistance, as compared with a photoresistor having an a-Si layer alone.
