PURPOSE: To lessen the number of stages through automation of a winding operation and to obviate decrease in resolution by rotating backward a winding frame and winding a fiber when the fiber is wound to the turn-back part of the winding frame, repeating the forward and backward rotation and winding the fiber in lamination in the same direction.

CONSTITUTION: When a fiber 2 is wound to the turn-back part 3 of a winding frame 1, the fiber is detained by a detaining means 4 and is turned back. The frame 1 is then rotated backward to wind backward the fiber 2 so that the fibers over the entire laminated and superposed layer is densely arrayed and wound in the same coiling direction. With the arrangement of the cut end formed by cutting and expanded at the one position of the fiber 2, the respective cut ends 12 of the object side and eye side coincide at the vertical direction and the lateral direction. The arrangement of the light on the incident and exit sides coincides surely with each other resulting in improved resolution. It is possible to reduce the stage for forming the tape fiber looped at one end and the stage of laminating the same into one stage.
