PURPOSE: To attain the saturated recording to a magnetic tape of high permeability by forming a rubbing surface of a magnetic head by laminating a core of a magnetic material having high saturated magnetic flux density and another core of a magnetic material having high permeability and forming a front gap to the former gap along with the glass filled into an area of the latter core close to said gap.
CONSTITUTION: Center core half bodies 20 and 21 are made of a metallic magnetic material having ≥8,000G saturated magnetic flux density and have about 10W20μ thickness respectively; while core half bodies 22, 23, 24 and 25 are made of a magnetic material having high permeability with about 70W80μ thickness. These bodies 22W25 are put on both sides of bodies 20 and 21 respectively. The molten glasses 26 and 27 are filled up to the positions about 0.1mm away left and right from a front gap 28, and it is avoided that front gaps are not formed by core half bodies 22 and 23 as well as 24 and 25. In the recording mode a magnetic flux flows to the core half bodies 20 and 21 to magnetize satisfactorily a magnetic tape of high reluctance force. While the magnetic resistance is reduced for a magnetic path led from an area near the gap 28 to a winding to improve the reproduction efficiency.
