Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce an impact produced when a head is loaded and to reduce greatly the damage inflicted on a read/write head or a floppy disk, by having a simple constitution in which a link structure is applied to a head loading mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A head loading solenoid 2 is energized, and a solenoid mobile iron core 6 is sucked toward an arrow 11. Then a pad load 1 is pulled centering on a fulcrum 13 via a pad load link 3 and moved down toward an arrow 12. The move-down degree of the load 1 varies by the intervention of the link 3 and in accordance with a curve C. The move-down speed is decelerated in comparison with the sucking speed of the core 6. A head assembly 5 also moves down in response to the load 1, and a head is loaded at a point A. In this case, the speed of collision is decelerated between the head and the floppy disk. This reduces the damage of the floppy disk. The load 1 moves down to a point B even after the head is loaded. Then the floppy disk is pressed by a sponge 4 to secure a stable circuit. When the energization of the solenoid is cut off, a projection 5a of a head carriage is pushed up to unload the head.
