Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a magnetic recording medium having improved lubricity and durability by dispersing isocetyl stearate in a magnetic layer or coating it on the surface of the layer.
CONSTITUTION: A 3wt% isocetyl stearate soln. is coated on the surface of a magnetic layer contg. magnetic powder dispersed in a resin binder so that 0.01W 1.0g/m2 isocetyl stearate is stuck, and the soln. is dried. A magnetic layer may be formed using a magnetic coating material contg. isocetyl stearate added by 5W50wt% of the resin binder in the coating material. Thus, a magnetic recording medium having improved lubricity and superior durability is obtd.
