Title:
UNDERWATER GRANULATING METHOD OF COAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5845284
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate the use of a surfactant, etc. and granulate a coal efficiently at a low cost in the granulating method of the coal in a coal-water slurry, by increasing the slurry temperature, adding a hydrocarbon binder to the slurry, and making the binder easily dispersible in the slurry.

CONSTITUTION: In the granulating method of a coal in a coal-water slurry, the slurry is warmed to 25°C or above, preferably 40W80°C, and a hydrocarbon binder, preferably an unemulsified heavy oil containing no surfactant, is added to the warmed slurry. The resultant mixture is then agitated and granulated in water. For example, a coal 1 and water 2 heated by a heater, etc. are agitated to give a coal-water slurry. A warmed heavy oil 4 is then added to the slurry to carry out the granulation step 5 under stirring.
