PURPOSE: To manufacture a phosphor material layer having excellent grade of display with good yield by printing phosphor material through a film consisting of metal oxide to the anode display part of aluminum wiring conductive layer.
CONSTITUTION: A wiring conductor layer 2 is formed by patterning of a thin film aluminum vacuum deposited to the entire surface of a glass substrate 1. The surface thereof is coated with a reactive product obtained by reaction of a mixture of the hydrolysis solution of metal alkoxido, for example, tetraethylsilicate and alcohol under the existence of an inorganic acid system reaction accelerator. The surface is then dried up and a film 5 of metal oxide is formed. As a metal element of metal alkoxide, a tervalent or quadrivalent metal can also be used in addition to silicon. The pasted phosphor material which emits the light with a low voltage is printed to the anode display part of glass substrate 1 where a film of metal oxide is formed, to form a phosphor material layer 4.
