PURPOSE: To perform the painting of a stripe pattern, by providing a plurality of vertical barrier plates above a plate material conveyed in a horizontal state in parallel to the conveying direction of the plate material through gaps and dripping the liquid paint sprayed to the single surface of each barrier plate on the plate material.

CONSTITUTION: A plurality of vertical barrier plates 2 are parallelly arranged above a plate material 1 conveyed in a horizontal state through gaps in parallel to the conveying direction of the plate material 1 and a liquid paint is sprayed to the single surface of each barrier plate from the part obliquely above the barrier plate to be flowed down along the single surface of the barrier plate and dripped on the plate material from the lower end of each barrier plate. By this method, the painting of a stripe pattern can be perfored to the plate material without using a roll coater.
