Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the flow-force in a spool valve, by controlling the direction of discharge flow through provision of a passage for restricting the flow of work fluid and a groove for controlling the discharge angle of work fluid near to a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:Work fluid discharged from a notch 9 produces vortices in a groove 9 and is distributed in a groove 10 toward a section where the notch 9 is not formed. Resultantly, the discharge angle of work fluid is settled at a value in the proximity of 90 deg., and work fluid is introduced into a downstream chamber 6 through a passage 11. At an intermediate opening, on the other hand, the discharge angle is kept at a value near 90 deg. since almost all of the work fluid is distributed in the groove 10. Further, at a great opening, flow-force is not caused since the opening area is increased and the velocity of fluid flow is decreased resultantly.
