PURPOSE: To improve the resistance to corrosion, heat and mechanical impact of a titled material, by changing stepwise the concn. of the ceramics in the intermediate layer between metal for binding and a surface ceramic layer and providing the sum of the thicknesses of the metallic layer for binding and the intermediate layer at a specific value or above.

CONSTITUTION: An intermediate layer wherein the mixing ratio of ceramics and metal for binding is stepwise changed in ≥2 stages is applied on said metal in the stage of coating ceramics such as gray alumina, magnesia zirconate, alumina magnesia, chromic oxide or the like on said metal by melt spraying. The sum of the thickness of the intermediate layer and the metal layer for binding is made to ≥0.15mm. Then a material for an equipment such as a sink roll or the like which yields smooth plated products without generating ruggedness owing to erosion by molten zinc and the alloying with the bath components, and is usable for a long time in a galvanizing bath is obtd.
