PURPOSE: To prevent possible jamming during the guiding of a paper by proving a mobile paper guide in a paper guide arranged with an interval to form a continued paper guide closing the portion corresponding to the interval when the paper end is guided along the paper guide.

CONSTITUTION: A pair of conveying rollers 2 are provided on the downstream of a roll paper receiver 8 and a platen 4 and a printing head 7 are provided as opposed on the downstream thereof. To guide a roll paper 1 thereto, a first paper guide 3 is fastened between the conveying rollers 2 and the printing head 7 while the second paper guide 5 is provided between the printing head 7 and a cutter 6 on the downstream thereof. But under such a condition, as the end of the roll paper 1 is fed along these guides 3 and 5, a jamming takes place below the head 7. Thus, a mobile paper guide 11 is provided to guide paper while closing an interval portion below the head 7 only when the guiding of the paper end is performed.
