PURPOSE: To improve the rigidity of a cowl front panel by overlapping and connecting the cowl front panel to the upper face section of a cowl side member in the vertical direction of a vehicle so as to form a closed cross section with the cowl front panel and a cowl side panel.

CONSTITUTION: A flange section 28A formed on the opening periphery of a cowl side member 28 is connected to a cowl side panel 22 to form a closed cross section. A vertical wall 36C formed on the front side of a vehicle of a cowl front panel 36 is extended to both side sections in the width direction of the vehicle of the cowl front panel 36, and cowl grooves 32 are formed between the vertical wall 36C and plane sections 30A, 36A. Both end sections in the width direction of the vehicle on the rear side of the plane section 36A of the cowl front panel 36 are overlapped and connected to the upper face 28B of the cowl side member 28. The rear section of the plane section 30A of a dash panel 30 has a closed cross section, its rigidity is high, and it can effectively contribute to the rigidity of the front body section 10 of the vehicle.
