PURPOSE: To standardize bead cutting work so as to obtain an electrically seamed pipe with excellent quality of appearance, by arranging an arc-shaped cutter concentrically on a circular holder with sliding freedom in the circumferential direction via a sliding mechanism.
CONSTITUTION: An arc-shaped cutter 1 is concentrically attached to a circular holder 2, a worm-wheel 4 is fixed on the peripheral surface of a drum 3 on which the holder 2 is installed, thus forming a sliding mechanism slidable in the circumferential direction through rotation of a worm-shaft 5. The drum 3 is mounted to a stand 9 to be freely elevated by aid of an adjusting screw 8. Accordingly, the bead cutter 1 is positioned depending upon the diameter of an electrically seamed pipe 20. Since the cutter 1 is effectively operated from position (a) to position (b), the range available for the cutter can be extended to the whole circumference, if the position (b) is set to match both a circular arc and the position (a). Thus the use of the cutter is started from position (a) and finished at position (b).
