PURPOSE: To facilitate the detachment work of a head/cable unit, by allowing the mount direction of a thermal head to a head holder to coincide with that of an input connector to an output connector.
CONSTITUTION: An input connector 19 is attached to one terminal of the flexible cable 16 of the head/cable unit 18 wherein the flexible cable 16 is fixed to a thermal head 15 by a press plate 17 so as to be connected to the heat generation part thereof. The thermal head 15 is inserted in the holding part 20 of a head holder 14 from the position above a carrier 1 under pressure to be fixed thereto and the input connector 19 is engaged with an output connector 12 from the position separated from a platen 11 and above the carrier 1 to perform wiring.
