Abstract:
PURPOSE:To detect a selected display part rapidly by finding out approximate relation between a detecting window and each display element without sequential comparison, and only when whether at least a part of each display element is arranged in the detecting window or not is uncertain, comparing both the parts in detail. CONSTITUTION:An approximate relation between the square detecting window Pw and respective display elements is found out. To find out the approximate relation, the X and Y coordinates of the start point of a display element, the X and Y coordinates of the end point and the maximum X and Y coordinates and minimum X and Y coordinates of the square detecting window are used. To find out the detailed relation, the length (XL, YL) of two other sides of a right angled triangle regarding a display element as its hypotenuse, the length (YS) between an intersecting point of a vertical line from one vertex of the detecting window Pw to one of the two sides and one of the two sides and the vortex of the detecting window Pw and the length (XS) between the intersecting point and the start point or end point of the display element are found out to use the relation of these length.
