Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable the reuse of silica gel, by regenerating silica gel used in purification of coenzyme Q by contacting the same with a solvent under heating after washing.
CONSTITUTION: In regenerating silica gel in a column which is used in the purification of coenzyme Q, subjected to adsorption and elution with benzene or n- hexane and thereafter washed with chloroform or ethyl ether, said silica gel is contacted with a solvent such as n-hexane or benzene under heating. By this method, because the adsorbing and separating capacities of silica gel can be sufficiently restored, it is reused in the purification of coenzyme Q.
