PURPOSE: To provide the titled composition having excellent stability and containing indomethacin and an ether compound derived from a specific glycerol or polyglycerol and an alcohol.

CONSTITUTION: The objective water-soluble eye lotion composition can be prepared by using (A) indomethacin and (B) an ether compound derived from glycerol or polyglycerol and an alcohol, e.g. the compound of formula I or II (R1, R2, R3 and R4 are H, 1W24C saturated or unsaturated straight or branched- chain aliphatic hydrocarbon group or aromatic hydrocarbon group, provided that at least one of R1, R2, R3 and n-R4 is not H; n is 0W60), as essential components. The composition can be applied as it is or after dissolving in a proper solvent such as physiological saline water, water, ethanol, propylene glycol, etc. The lotion may be incorporated with a diluent, mildew-proofing agent, and various other additives.
