Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of polling by transmitting a polling start request packet from a terminal device to an exchange station ahead the transmission of data in the contention system.

CONSTITUTION: A terminal device starting the transmission of data transmits the polling start request packet to the exchange station ahead the transmission in a radio packet communication system. The exchange station stores the terminal number of a terminal device to a polling registration memory to apply polling only to the terminal device stored in the polling registration memory. The terminal device receiving the polling transmits a data when the data to be transmitted exists and transmits an idle packet to the exchange station, and transmits a polling end request packet to the exchange station after the end of transmission. The exchange station deletes the number of the terminal device transmitting the polling end request packet from the polling registration memory and then the polling to the said terminal device is finished.
