Abstract:
PURPOSE:To energize a head carrier in the removal direction of a back crush to a screw shaft for driving the head carrier, i.e. axially, and improve the straight drive performance of a head by extending an offset spring spirally around part of the head carrier. CONSTITUTION:One terminal of the offset spring 34 as a tension coil spring is hooked with a spring peg pin 33 implanted in the magnetic head carrier 20, and the other terminal of this pring 34 is hooked with a spring peg part 4a provided to a main frame chassis 4. This spring 34 when extended between the spring peg pin 33 and spring peg 4a is would helically around the external wall of the cylinder part 20b of the magnetic head carrier 20, so a spring energizing force is applied to the cylinder part 20b and an angular moment around a guide shaft 26 is applied. Consequently, a radial deviating force for the magnetic head carrier 30 is generated ina radial direction to the guide shaft 26 to prevent the magnetic head carrier 20 from oscillating axially.
