Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R1 and R2 are lower alkyl) or its salt.
EXAMPLE: Bis (4-dimethylamino-5-methyl-1,2-benzenedithiolate) nickel tetra-n-butyl ammonium.
USE: It is ued as a heat radiation shielding material taking advantage of its capability to absorb near infrared rays. It is also expected to be useful as a laser recording medium.
PREPARATION: The objective compound is produced e.g. by reacting the compound of formula II (R3 is H or lower alkyl) (e.g. 4,5-bis-propylthio-N,N-2-trimethylaniline) with the compound of formula NiX2 (X is halogen) (e.g. NiCl2, NiBr2, etc.) preferably in liquid ammonia.
