Title:
SAFETY SKI BINDING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5836571
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
The invention relates to a jaw iron of a releasing ski binding which has two sole-holding arms which are pivotable in a basic body and are supported on a two-part slide which is displaceable in the longitudinal direction of the ski counter to spring force. Provided between the slide parts is a coupling device which is releasable in dependence on the slide stroke. Provided on the slide part which is movable relative to the sole holding arms after release of the coupling device is a component which is coaxial with the spring and bears an abutment for the spring. In the case of jaw irons of this type, it is disadvantageous that they can be caused to release by a jolting load which would actually still be harmless to the skier's foot. There is therefore a requirement for a jaw iron which does not release in the case of harmless jolting loads. This is achieved by the fact that the component forms the one movable slide part and is detachably connected via the coupling device directly to the other slide part, and that a hydraulic damping device is assigned to the component. In addition to constructional simplification of the jaw iron, the latter is thus capable of differentiating jolting and harmless loads from other loads leading to release and of avoiding undesirable release.
