PURPOSE: To provide a titled welding rod which improves fillet welding in horizontal and diagonal parts by coating a flux which contains CaO and MgO in a limited content, is added with a specific amt. of an MnO content and is specified with a required compounding ratio of an oxide on a steel core wire.
CONSTITUTION: A flux contg. 8W25wt% ZrO2, 1W15% Al2O3, ≤8% TiO2, 10W 25% SiO2, 0.2W4% ≥1 kind among MnO, MnO2 and MnCO2 in terms of MnO, ≤3%≥1 kind among CaO, CaCO3, MgO, and MgCO3, ≤4% iron oxide, 30W60% Fe, 4W12% Mn, ≤3%, Si, 1W5% alkali metal oxide, ≤3.5% org. material, and contains ≤50% (ZrO2 + Al2O3 + SiO2), 0.1W0.3 ratio by wt. (CaO+MnO+ MgO+TiO2)/(ZrO2+Al2O3+SiO2) is coated on a steel core wire by using a binder, by which a coated arc welding rod is obtd. Such welding rod has good slag removability.
