PURPOSE: To form the titled heat pipe assembly which is simple in structure, high in thermal efficiency and excellent in safety by a method wherein a heater is directly incorporated in a heat pipe having a working liquid sealed therein so that the heat pipe and the heater as a heat source are formed integral with each other.
CONSTITUTION: A heat pipe is formed of a cylindrical heat transfer pipe 1. The pipe 1 is provided with a number of projections on the outer peripheral surface thereof in the axial direction so as to obtain an enlarged sectional area of heat transfer for increasing the heat transfer efficiency of the pipe and both of the open ends of the pipe 1 are tightly closed. Further, a heater fitting pipe 5 is inserted into the horizontal heat transfer pipe 1 through a fitting hole 4 so that the pipe 5 extends over nearly the entire length of the pipe 1 along the axis of the latter, and an electrical heater 6 is inserted into the pipe 5. In addition, a working liquid 7 adopted to transfer heat to an object to be heated is sealed within the heat transfer pipe 1 in a quantity sufficient for the entire pipe 5 to be soaked in the liquid and in this way, the liquid 7 transfers heat from the heater 6 to the object to be heated. Accordingly, it will be understood that the heat pipe assembly is simple in structure, has a high thermal efficiency and a high degree of safety.
