PURPOSE: To reproduce the input picture with fidelity, by digitizing an analog input video into a desired gradation, and displaying sequentially it on a monitor from the lowermost luminance level to the uppermost luminance level as a binary-coded picture at each gradation.
CONSTITUTION: An A/D converter 51 converts only a picture part of an input picture signal 6 into a digital signal of an optional gradation and outputs its output to a display control section 53 through a data selecting device 52. A display control section 53 binary-codes a signal transmitted with the gradation corresponding to the count value of a TV frame counter 55. The binary-coded signal is corrected at a unit lumiance controller 56 in response to the photosensitivity of a photographic film, converted into an analog signal and displayed on the TV monitor. The video signal counted up sequentially by the TV frame counter 55 and binary-coded from the lowermost luminance level to the uppermost luminance level is displayed on the TV monitor and copied on the photographic film.
