Title:
INDIRECTLY-HEATED TYPE CATHODE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5958735
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the thermal characteristics of a good color cathode-ray tube and solve a problem of weldability by changing the material of a cathode strap.

CONSTITUTION: An indirectly-heated type cathode is composed of a cathode sleeve 2 with a base metal 4 whose upper top is coated with a thermion emissive material, cathode support cylinder 3 provided coaxially and outside this cathode sleeve, and a number of cathode straps 1 in which one end is secured near the lower end of the cathode sleeve and the other end is secured to the upper end of the cathode support cylinder and then the cathode sleeve is bridged and supported on the cathode support cylinder. A cathode strap 1 is made of a material in which a nickel layer with a thickness of 0.2 to 0.5% of the thickness of a ribbon type amber plate is formed on the surface of the ribbon type amber. This nickel layer is formed by plating and heat-treated under the reduced atmospheric air. For example, the ribbon type amber of 0.07mm×0.38mm thick is used and the nickel layer is formed at a thickness of 0.15 to 0.35μm by plating.
