PURPOSE: To obtain a broad band antenna for an underground object detector by fitting plural radiators in which conductor plates are connected in series with a parallel circuit of R and L onto conductors of a dipole antenna.
CONSTITUTION: The radiation sections 41∼43 comprising R, L parallel circuits 21∼23 and conductor plates 31∼33 connected thereto are fitted to a conductor 1 of the dipole antenna, and three feeding points 5 are provided symmetrically to the center. Further, the arrow 6 indicates for example, the radiating direction of an electromagnetic wave under ground. Since the impedance by the L is larger than that by the R at high frequencies, the energy of a harmful reflected current is consumed in the R of the radiation sections 41∼43, and since the impedance by the R is larger than that by the L at low frequencies, the energy is stored in the conductor plates 31∼33 as charges, then the energy is dissipated in air, allowing to obtain very excellent pulse waveform. Thus, the titled antenna is used as the broad band antenna for underground object detector.
