Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable to perform transfer of sealing water and gas replacing operation simultaneously, by providing a pump means for transferring sealing water in a connecting pipe for communicating the inner space of an inner tank and an annular space formed between the inner tank and an outer tank with each other. CONSTITUTION:In removing sealing water in an annular space 3, gas in the holder is drawn until inner sleeve-like members 6 come into abutment with a rest block 5. Until then, gate valves 14, 17, 19 in connecting pipes 8, 9 are closed, so that sealing water is kept in the annular space 3. When the gate valve 14 is opened subsequently, sealing water in the annular space 3 is transferred into a space 13 by the functiok of water head. Here, since the sealing water is not discharged to the outside of the holder, pressure in the holder does not become negative, so that gas replacing operation can be performed simultaneously. Thereafter, sealing water remaining in the annular space 3 is transferred forcibly into the space 13 by operating a pump 15 with gate valves 14, 16, 17 being closed while gate valves 19, 20 opened.
