PURPOSE: To monitor easily the recording state, by reproducing at least the information of one end of a tape shaped recording medium and comparing the reproducing data with a data delaying a recording data for a prescribed time.
CONSTITUTION: In depressing a shutter button 21, each circuit is operated in the order determined with a recording control circuit 16. An optical shutter 7 is opened and closed at first and a light is irradiated on an image pickup element 8. A signal for one frame's share is extracted from the output of the element 8 at a recording signal processing circuit 9. After this signal is amplified at a recording amplifier 10, the signal is recorded on a magnetic tape 12 with a multichannel magnetic head 11. The data recorded in this way is reproduced with reproducing magnetic heads 13, 14. The reproducing data and the data delaying the recording data for a prescribed time are compared to discriminate whether or not the correct recording is performed.
