Abstract:
PURPOSE:To ensure the assured discrimination of an identification signal in a recording or postrecording mode by controlling the recording or postrecording carried out by a head of the other side in response to the result of reproduction of a video signal as well as the recorded identification signal. CONSTITUTION:The video signal, the identification signal and the digital sound signal which are recorded at the front part of a recording medium 8 are reproduced by a helical scanning head 7 which has a contact with the medium 8 over a wide range of >=180 deg.. Then the inhibition of recording, the display of the recording address, etc. are performed via a system control circuit 5 and in accordance with the result of reproduction of the identification signal obtained by an identification signal recording/reproducing circuit 6. Thus the start is controlled for a fixed period for the recording or the postrecording to the next part of the medium 8 which is performed by another helical scanning head having a contact with the medium 8 together with the head 7. Thus a decipherment of the identification signal can be performed accurately. This prevents a fault produced by the defective decipherment of the identification signal in a recording or postrecording mode.
