Abstract:
PURPOSE:To accurately move a pickup to a target track at high speed with simple constitution by adding speed information to target position information of the pickup and performing the seek control of the pickup based on the information obtained by this addition. CONSTITUTION:When the optical pickup is moved in the radial direction of a disk to perform the seek control, a target value generating circuit 11 generates a value a+b, which is obtained by adding speed information (a) for movement of the optical pickup and distance information (b) indicating the extent of movement to the target track, as the target value. This speed information (a) is set to a prescribed speed (c) at the time of the start of seek control and is gradually increased till an intermediate point to the target position and is gradually reduced after the intermediate point and is set to the first speed (c) just before arrival and stop at the target position. Thus, the seek control to move the pickup to the target position at high speed is accurately performed with the simple constitution.
