PURPOSE: To obtain an excellent reproducing picture with a simple constitution, by correcting a video signal recorded or reproduced for the time axis and generating a reference signal supplied at least to a correcting section and a image pickup section.
CONSTITUTION: A jitter component of a reproduced chrominance carrier signal is eliminated with a loop comprising a frequency converter 12, a muting circuit 39, a switch 37, a BPF11, a comb line filter 27, a phase comparator 15, a switch 43, a mixer 44, a VCO21, a phase control circuit 45, a frequency converter 17 and a BPF18. Thus, the jitter is eliminated, and the reproduced chrominance carrier signal in synchronizing with an output of a reference crystal oscillator 14 is summed with a reproducing luminance signal at a mixing section 8 and outputted as a reproduced color video signal from a terminal 36 via a switch 35. The number of crystal oscillators is reduced by applying an output of the reference crystal oscillator 14 to a camera section, the phase comparator 15 as a part of a time axis correcting means and the frequency converter 17.
