PURPOSE: To enable to make constant the length of a recorded rolled paper, by providing a means for detecting the feed quantity of the rolled paper and a means for recording a specified symbol or character for each predetermined paper feed quantity.
CONSTITUTION: After feeding a paper by several steps, a controlling circuit 1 prints a dotted line used as a reference, and sets a counter circuit 3 into an initial state. Thereafter, the counter circuit 3 detects a paper-feeding signal (a) fed from the controlling circuit 1, and generates a carry signal when the counted content reaches a preset value. On detecting the carry signal, the controlling circuit discriminates that the paper has been fed by a predetermined length from the reference dotted line, then interrupts data printing being conducted, feeds the paper by a several-line amount, and prints a dotted line. Accordingly, since a specified symbol or character can be printed for each specified paper feed quantity, it is enabled to provide the rolled paper with a function of being a standardized paper or being regular in length.
