PURPOSE: To obtain a high-strength composite material with prescribed sections being unpregnated, by providing a controlling mechanism for an impregnating mechanism for impregnating high molecular material fiber with a thermosetting resin so that said fiber may be immersed in or moved out of the immersing material by the filament winding method.
CONSTITUTION: Fiber 2 is reeled out by rotating a spool and when the fiber is passed through a rotor 3b via rotor 3a, the fiber 5 is impregnated with an impregnating material 2. At that time, the rotating position of a mandrel 7 is detected to send a position signal, and based on the position signal a rotor moving mechanism 9 is actuated to move up and down the rotor 3b thereby immersing the fiber into the immersing material and moving the fiber out of the immersing material alternatively. The fiber 3 is passed via rotor 3c and is wound on the mandrel 7 spirally to form layers. Thus a high-strength composite material 8 with unpregnated sections can be produced.
