PURPOSE: To suppress a sticking phenomenon and obtain high-quality images, by a method wherein a surface of a head provided with heating resistors and electrodes is covered by a material having weak adhesion to an ink doner sheet and jhigh abrasion resistance.
CONSTITUTION: The electrodes 2-1, 2-2,... are provided in a staggered manner on a substrate 1 consisting of alumina or the like, the heating resistor 3-12 is provided so as to connect the electrodes to each other, and he electrodes 2-1, 2-2, ...and the resistor 3-12 are covered by a protective layer 4. The protective layer 4 is constituted of a mixture of an appropriate amount of a material having weak adhesion to the ink doner sheet, e.g., a fluorine compound such as polytetrafluoroethylene, a fluoro resin or a silicone resin, and an appropriate amount of a hard material having excellent abrasion resistance, e.g., a hard glass. Accordingly, even when an ink doner sheet in which a base is formed of an extremely thin material having poor heat resistance, such as a polyester film, is used, the sheet can be prevented from being adhered to the head.
