PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of burrs ridge parts formed on the main surface and side surface parts of a magnetic head by providing nonmagnetic oxides on the side surfaces of magnetic head cores.

CONSTITUTION: Nonmagnetic oxides 15, 16 are provided in end parts 24 on both sides of head cores 14 of a magnetic alloy to prevent burring in the ridge parts formed by the main surface and side surface parts of the magnetic head. "Sendust " is used for the magnetic alloy of the cores 14, and crystallized glass having a coefft. of thermal expansion roughly equal to that of "Sendust " and having 1,000°C melting temp. is used for the nonmagnetic oxides. Joining of both is accomplished by forming films of relatively high m.p. glass having about 800°C m.p. on both joining surfaces and press sticking and heating both surfaces.
