PURPOSE: To obtain an industrial fungicide providing excellently antimicrobial activity, comprising 1,1'-hexamethylene bis(5-(p-chlorophenyl)biguanide) dihydrochloride by adding the compound to various resins and molding.

CONSTITUTION: An industrial fungicide containing a compound shown by the formula as an active ingredient. In molding various kinds of resins, a resin material is blended with 0.01-0.2wt.%, preferably 0.05-0.15wt.% of the compound and kneaded by a conventional procedure or a solution of the compound having the above-mentioned concentration is applied or sprayed to the surface of the resin to give molded articles of germicidal resin. The molded articles shows antimicrobial activity against bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis. Since the compound has low vapor pressure, the fungicide hardly causes loss of active ingredient and environmental pollution by vaporization and has long residual effects.
