PURPOSE: To make the film thickness of coating liquid on a roll face uniform and to obtain an excellent product, by pressing the middle part of a squeezing roll by a pressing plate having a curved face, and further pressing a prescribed roll.

CONSTITUTION: One or several pressing plates provided with curved faces are pressed against the middle part of a squeezing roll 18. Then, the squeezing roll 18 is pressed against a coating roll 14 at fixed pressure, and an object 20 to be coated is passed between the coating roll 14 and a backup roll 16. A coating liquid 12 is pulled out from a pan by the coating roll 14 and made into a film by the squeezing roll 18 and coated on the object. Accordingly, the film thickness becomes uniform, and an excellent coated product is obtained.
