Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve recording sensitivity by using a metal oxide indicated by a specific general formula and consisting of main elements, Pb, O, Mn and Fe and an element selected among In, Sc, Ti, Sn or Zn.

CONSTITUTION: As a metal oxide magnetic material or magnetic film, a metal oxide indicated by a general formula is used where Me indicates an element selected among In, Sc, Ti, Sn or Zn, (n) indicates ion valence of Me and (n), (x), (y) is 5.0≤(n)≤6.0, 0<(x)≤1.0, 0<(y)≤0.6 respectively. The metal oxide magnetic material or magnetic film has proper Tc and Hc, high recording sensitivity and transparency, is resistant against oxidation and corrosion, can use transmitting light at the time of regeneration and can be regenerated using Faraday rotation angle.
