Title:
COMPOSITE ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC RECEPTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5846346
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a photoreceptor high in sensitivity to light in a long wavelength region, superior in adhesion between each layer, and good in durability, by vapor depositing a squaric acid methine dye on a conductive substrate to form a first photoconductive layer and Se on this layer to form a second photoconductive layer.

CONSTITUTION: An about 40nm thick first photoconductive layer is formed by vapor depositing a squaric acid methine dye expressed by the formula on a conductive substrate. This dye has high stability and is not decomposed during vapor deposition. An about 50μm thick second photoconductive layer is formed by vapor depositing Se on the first layer, thus permitting the obtained photoreceptor to have superior adhesion between each layer without using any adhesive, high durability and photosensitivity to light in a wavelength as long as 800nm, and to be used for a copying machine using semiconductor laser.
